  • Cannabis Genetics’ play the most important part in determining the outcome of a cultivator or processor's final product. Cannabis genetics refer to the different genotypes created by crossing one plant with another (breeding). Different genetics will produce different terpene and cannabinoid profiles, which is the differentiating factor in what kind of “high” consumers experience. On top of this, cannabis genetics also play a major role in the flower’s yield, bag appeal and finishing time. Having the right genetics can be the difference between getting $1,000 or $2,000 per pound, 1.5 lbs or 3 lbs per light, and the difference of getting 4 or 6 harvests a year. All of these things play a major role in determining the success of a commercial cannabis operation.

We believe that having the right genetics is a key to success. We are working hard to create a library of unreleased genetics that will set your cannabis cultivation apart from your competitors. If you are interested in how your cultivation company can get their hands on some of these genetics, please reach out to us at Genetics@Altvm.com.

  • Breeding is all about selection. The breeder’s choice of which cultivars to breed with is what sets each breeder apart. Through the pollination process these choices become seeds. Once these seeds are planted, grown out, and harvested, these seeds present new cultivars to then be selected through again. As this cycle continues, the new genetics are refined over time. The new cultivars are direct results of the breeders' genetic choices. • Located in Edmond, Oklahoma, ALTVM (pronounced AL-TUM) was founded in early 2019 as an a R&D cultivation company that focuses on world class genetics designed for production. Since the company's inception, they have planted over 7,000 seeds from some of the best breeders across the country. Using these genetics, they have launched their own breeding program that enables them to create 100+ new crosses each year. These crosses are then hunted through and ran in production rooms to collect performance data of new cultivars.
